Alone in a Crowd
Tokyo is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever seen. Everywhere I walked my eyes were flooded with information: flashing lights, interesting people, colorful buildings… As a photographer, it was a sensory overload. I didn’t know where to start. I wanted to go in every directions at once. One thing that kept capturing my attention though was the commuters. But while crowds of people shared the same space they often felt quite distant. I realized that I kept coming back to this feeling of isolation in a crowd. People stood right next to each other, but remained in their own world.
